Nature and God as our Political Platform

Oh how I wish the initial comment of “Nature and God” as guiding forces for the establishment of rule could be enacted.   Of course, the problem may immediately arise as to “From whose perspective do we view Nature and God?”

From where I’m viewing my world, NATURE has to do with the balance and right ordering of the universe.  Here’s my list (in no particular order) for NATURE acting as the human guide for all interaction in our world:

  1. We need to protect our water, both salt and fresh.
  2. We need to keep our air clean, without warming agents.
  3. We need to eat for healthy bodies.
  4. We need to respect the land that grows our food.
  5. We need to use renewable, non-polluting energy.

And then my list for “God” providing the rules of governance:

  1. Put no other gods before me.
  2. Love they neighbor.
  3. Do unto others as you would have them do unto to do.

That should about it do it.  These lists will stop gridlock in Congress.  We won’t need any legislation.  Everyone will know that every action has to be one that will be helpful to NATURE and according to GOD’s commandments.  In fact, Congress can go home and work to help their individual communities.  Taking a look at these lists, we’ll all agree to live more simply, requiring less of everything.  Greed and Want will be outdated commodities.   We’ll all use public transportation when it is a necessity to leave home.  No one will need a gas car, as we won’t go further than an electric one can take us.  We’ll eat less, use only local foods and work to keep our bodies as healthy as possible.  We won’t have to be concerned about health care, education and safety.  In meeting God’s commandments, we know how much we are to give and to take care of others–not judging their circumstances, but rather making sure they have food to eat, doctors for their care and teachers for all that desire education.  There will no longer be any polluting, fracking, drilling, spewing, dumping, or an excuse for more nuclear.  And, no more war with anyone.  There is nothing about war or the machinery of war that is in keeping with NATURE and GOD

I’m sure everyone can add to these lists and commentary.  As soon as we all live by these lists, we’ll all be happier and on the right track according to the Needs of Nature and God’s guidance.  Political/Governmental governance not needed.

Be gentle with our giving, loving universe–live simply.
